


Cashew Kernel
Since 1990, Vietnam had emerged as the main producer of cashew nuts within the Asian region. Within the decade, Vietnam had begun to grow cashew as a high-economic impact plant, which had led to an en mass expansion into rural areas. Cashews are mainly distributed across a wide spectrum of regional areas between Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, etc. However, Binh Phuoc took the helm to account for 50% of the total cashew production of the country.
The harvesting season of raw cashew nut in Vietnam is between February and June. Known production areas of cashew as at 2020 is approximated to be roughly 400,000 hectares and the export volume is currently standing at roughly 42% of total national production.
